COMPANY AWARDED CONTRACT TO TAKE DOWN PARKWAY LIGHTS

Get your shovels ready. Richard E. Pierson Construction Co. has been awarded the contract to remove the lights on the Garden State Parkway. The company had the high bid of $87.8 million, which is about $18 million below initial estimates. The work has been called a public safety issue, with the amount of deaths and serious accidents that have taken place along that area. The work could begin as early as next month.
