The Coast Guard and local authorities are searching for a 29-year-old man Monday who was ejected from a 16-foot boat in the mouth of Gibson’s Creek near Ocean City.
The Coast Guard received a call at 11:38 a.m. from a member of the Ocean City Police Department reporting a boating accident. Two men were in a boat and hit a mud patch causing one of them to be ejected into the water and the other landed in the mud. The man who landed in the mud saw the 29-year-old go underneath the water.
A rescue boat crew from Coast Guard Station Great Egg, N.J., a rescue helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station Atlantic City, N.J., a boat crew from Tow Boat U.S., and members of the local fire department are searching for the man.
