The Coast Guard rescued four people aboard a 21-foot boat after they became disorientated one mile east of Barnegat Light Inlet due to weather Monday.
The Coast Guard received a call at 4:45 p.m. from the Ocean County Police Department reporting the boat was disorientated from low visibility, running low on fuel and did not have a GPS or a VHF radio.
A 47-foot Motor Life Boat crew and a 25-foot Response Boat crew from Coast Guard Station Barnegat Light arrived on scene and escorted the boat and its crew to the station.
No injuries were reported.
The Coast Guard urges mariners to have an operating marine-band radio aboard your vessel in order to notify rescuers in the event of an emergency situation on the water.
