It was a rescue of a different sort for the United States Coast Guard on Sunday. The Coast Guard teamed up with the Marine Mammal Stranding Center to help save an 800 pound leatherneck turtle that became entangled in fishing gear about 30 miles off the coast of South Jersey. A recreational fishing boat spotted the turtle and called for help. The turtle was located far off the coast of Ocean City and was made free of the fishing gear and swam off into the ocean.
