The Cape May County Freeholders are concerned about the competence of Gordon Dahl, executive director of the South Jersey Economic Development District. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the freeholder board passed a resolution calling for the SJEDD’s board to take a vote of confidence in Dahl within 30 days. If the board does not unanimously support Dahl, he should be removed immediately and a “qualified permanent successor” should be found. Cape May County has even considered pulling out of the district, as Atlantic County did in January. The SJEDD has not completed audits in two years and had incurred hundreds of thousands of dollars in debts developing the NextGen Aviation Research and Technology Park in Egg Harbor Township.
