Hoping for more money in your paycheck? Well state lawmakers haven’t yet figured out how to make it happen. Gov. Chris Christie vetoed a measure that would have increased the minimum wage by $1.25 and tie future increases to inflation. The governor offered a $1 increase phased in over the next three years and adding more money to the Earned Income Tax Credit. Assembly Speaker Sheila Oliver immediately said that Christie didn’t go far enough and that Democrats would now work to get the issue placed on the ballot for voters to decide.
