A controversial bill was vetoed before the end of the legislative session. Gov. Chris Christie nixed a measure that would allow transgender people who underwent an operation to change the name on their birth certificate. Lawmakers in Trenton believe that if stricter safeguards were put into place that it could get signed by Christie and they plan on working a new form of the bill through Trenton.
