The state budget that is currently in effect changed the school funding formula in order to help balance the budget. Gov. Chris Christie’s administration has been challenged in court over the change. Christie said on Wednesday that he is confident the Supreme Court will rule in the state’s favor that what was done was necessary to keep the state afloat. Opponents have said not enough funding was put in for schools and that the most at-risk school districts had a higher portion of money taken than others.
