Governor Chris Christie has begun his public apology for the biggest scandal to rock his administration. Christie addressed reporters today and took responsibility for a traffic backlog on Fort Lee that appears to be political retribution. Christie says he is responsible for what happened, and is heartbroken because a member of his staff betrayed his trust. The governor told reporters today that he continues interviews with key personnel to find out what they know, and don’t know, and additional firings are possible. Already Christie has terminated Deputy Chief of Staff Bridget Kelly for lying to him, and he has canned New Jersey State GOP Chairman Bill Stepian. Christie also promises to go to Fort Lee today to apologize to its mayor and community over this controversy.
