Gov. Chris Christie promised veterans in Wildwood on Wednesday they would maintain first shot at civil service jobs in the state. Christie was speaking at the Veterans of Foreign Wars 94th Annual State Convention. A proposal is on the table to change the state’s civil service rules regarding moving employees. Some Democrats say Christie’s plan would hurt veteran’s preference, but Christie attacked that claim saying veterans wouldn’t lose preference.
