Gov. Chris Christie told reporters that a plan by Democrats to water down the tool kit will be vetoed. The governor and Democratic lawmakers held dueling press conferences on Tuesday. Christie did not appreciate the Democratic plan for arbitration reform that would remove health care costs from a cap on annual employee costs, when arbitrators make rulings. Christie wants a hard two percent cap in for employees, including firefighters and police from arbitrators. He did say negotiated increases that are higher are fine by towns if they can find cuts to make in other areas.
