CHRISTIE SAYS HE IS ON BOARD WITH SWEENEY FOR REFORMS

Gov. Chris Christie said the Senate President Steve Sweeney and he agree on reforms needed in health benefits and pensions. Many Democratic members of the Assembly believe the issue should be collective bargained. Christie said he has worked on finding a compromise and the bill Sweeney will introduce does just that. The Governor has been calling for action over a number of months on this issue. The legislature recesses for the summer at the end of June.
