CHRISTIE PLANS TO FIGHT PAYMENT OF ARC TUNNEL

The state is not interested in forking over $271 million to the federal government over the ARC Tunnel project. Gov. Chris Christie said during a radio interview that he planned to appeal and that the state will not pay the money back. The Federal Transit Administration may try to charge the state interest. An plan was proposed that if the state paid back the $271 million, then the state would get back $128 million for clean-air projects.
