More comments by Gov. Chris Christie that are sure to draw the ire of local residents. When asked by a student on the campaign trail in New Hampshire why he wasn’t back in New Jersey helping with the storm clean up, especially in flooded areas like we experienced, Christie said “Do you want me to go down there with a mop?” The governor also said no one had to be evacuated, though local first responders were seen in many photos carrying people from their homes. He also went on to say, “I’m the governor, I’m not the chief engineer.” Christie is back doing his town hall meetings in New Hampshire on the campaign trail.
