Gov. Chris Christie called the people in Margate “selfish” for their actions regarding fighting the state on a dune project. Christie noted that everyone was lucky that Hurricane Joaquin missed South Jersey but if the storm did hit it would have done extensive damage and even more so in Margate because they didn’t have a protective dune system. The governor used among the harshest words he had for the people there and said in the end the state would win.
