Gov. Chris Christie is going to repay the state for his use of a State Police helicopter. The news broke on Thursday that Christie and the state’s Republican party are going to combine to pay. The party agreed to pay $1,232.29 for the use of the helicopter. Christie is making two payments, one for Tuesday’s trip and one from last Friday when Christie again used a helicopter to get to his son’s game. In total, he will pay back the state $2,151. Christie’s office previously said that he wouldn’t repay the state.
Many Democratic lawmakers were criticizing Christie for his use of state’s resources, especially when he has asked everyone for shared sacrifice.
