On Monday the New Jersey State Senate is scheduled to vote on a bill that would eliminate the two-year statute of limitations for victims of child sexual abuse. The new law would remove the time limit to when victims of child abuse could file a civil suit against their molester or the religious, charitable or educational organization that may have enabled the abuse. Current law states that victims must take such actions within two years of reaching adulthood, or two years from the time they realized they were abused.
