CHARGES UPGRADED TO MURDER IN DEATH OF GALLOWAY MAN

Charges against James Sopuch Jr. have been upgraded to murder after his 60 year-old father was found dead on Saturday night inside the Galloway Township home they shared. Atlantic County officials arrested Sopuch, Jr., 29, and initially charged him with aggravated assault, but upgraded the charge to murder after an autopsy found James Sopuch, Sr. died of blunt force trauma to the head. Sopuch Jr.’s bail was also increased from $100,000 to $1 million cash. No date was set for his first court appearance.
