Next weekend brings the first big weekend for Cape May County. Cape May County Chamber of Commerce President Vicki Clark tells Coastal Broadcasting that her group is expecting a good summer season. Last year, the economy and weather hampered businesses. Clark noted that weather will play a crucial role again this year, but the news is all good so far. Rentals are up and interest has been peaked following a very rough winter in the northeast. The Cape May County Tourism Department said during the Tourism Conference that people may be staying for less days and could be spending less money, but they will be coming. Clark said that along those lines, businesses she talks to are offering special values this year to incentivize people to spend money.
