Complaints by local residents will not halt the installation of a chain-link fence along the newly reconstructed Sandman Boulevard, that connects Rt. 9 to the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. Officials with the Delaware River and Bay Authority responded to the objections by letter, stating that federal regulations require fencing along the roadway. The DRBA says they received $2.3 million from a federal discretionary fund for ferry services. The agency says it plans to add landscaping that will soften the appearance of the fencing.
