Census officials unofficially mark today as the final day to submit a Census form. Cape May County officials have warned that their rate of participation is much lower than the state average. The Census helps decide how grant dollars are going to be spent over the next 10 years and if people do not fill out the form in the county, less dollars will be coming this way. Census takers will be visiting households where the form wasn’t filled out over the coming weeks. The state is at a 68 percent response rate, which is just slightly higher than the national average.
