A 5 p.m. Monday deadline imposed by Trump Entertainment Resorts was ignored by the main casino workers union in Atlantic City. The Taj Mahal wants it’s casino workers to withdraw it’s appeal of a bankruptcy court order on October 17th. The ruling terminates the union contract, eliminating health insurance and their pension plan. Without the concessions by Local 54, the company claims it must shut down at 6 a.m. this Saturday. No updates have been released from either side on the fate of the 3,000 casino jobs at risk.
