After being unable to work out a deal before Friday, Atlantic City casino workers will go on strike at the Trump Taj Mahal Casino. Local 54 of Unite-HERE is sending about 1,000 of their union members to the picket lines at the start of the July 4th weekend without a new contract. The union was able to strike deals with four other casinos to avoid a strike, those being the Tropicana, Ballys, Harrahs, and Caesars. Workers at the Taj Mahal are not happy that a bankruptcy court allowed the struggling casino to cancel health and pension benefits for workers back in October of 2014.
