One of the founders of the Cape May Jazz Festival died this week. Carol Stone was 87 when she passed away peacefully at her home in Cape May. In January of 1994, Stone founded the Friends of Cape May Jazz, Inc. along with her partner Woody Woodland, and brought world class jazz artists to Cape May every April and November for many years. A tribute is currently being organized by local musicians in her honor tentatively set for Oct. 22, at the Clef Club in Philadelphia.
