Middle Township Police have arrested one man following a carjacking that took place in the parking lot of the Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Rio Grande Monday. Police arrested 23 year old Joshua Dupont of Deptford after he allegedly stole a car belonging to an elderly couple from Florida shortly before Noon Monday. Police say Dupont knocked a 74-year old man to the ground as the couple was loading lumber into the back of their vehicle. Dupont headed north in the couple’s vehicle, and ditched it at a local trailer park. Police pursued Dupont on foot and made the arrest; charges are pending.
