A new budget has been finalized with a tax increase in Cape May. Council there voted this week to approve a 1.5 cent increase. The new tax rate comes in at 30.9 cents. The plan calls for no reduction in services and no layoffs. Mayor Ed Mahaney has told 987 The Coast he felt it was a good budget that allows them to tackle some projects in the city and still provide the people of the city what they are looking for out of government.
