CAPE MAY MUNICIPAL TAX RATE SCHEDULED TO INCREASE

The tax rate in Cape May is scheduled to go up by a penny this year.  The new municipal budget was introduced this week and it calls for an increase in the local purpose tax rate that would increase the rate to 35 cents per $100 of assessed valuation.  Some of the extra revenue will be used to pay off a settlement to a former police chief.
