Cape May Mayor Ed Mahaney filed for re-election on Tuesday for the city’s November nonpartisan elections. Mahaney will square off against former Cape May Police Sgt. Rusty Chew, who has also been a volunteer firefighter for 32 years. The city moved it’s local elections from May to November along with many other local communities in a cost cutting move. Councilwoman Terri Swain is also running for re-election against two opponents, Daniel Kurkowski and Shaine Meier. The winners will be sworn into office on January 1st of next year.
