The Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office announced the arrest of a 68 year-old Cape May resident who allegedly tried to “groom” an 11 year-old boy for sexual purposes, and the alleged sexual assault of a second boy. Frank “Sandy” Thompson was charged with Aggravated Sexual Contact, Luring/Enticing a Child and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child. At the time of his arrest, Thompson was an Assistant Boy Scout Master and treasurer of the Corinthian Yacht Club of Cape May. He is currently in the Cape May County Jail on $175,000 full cash bail. The investigation is ongoing and Prosecutor Robert Taylor says his office will continue to work with local police departments to target sexual predators within Cape May County.
