An initial budget proposal in Cape May would see the tax rate increase by two cents. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Manager Bruce MacLeod presented his budget projections on Wednesday and it included the tax hike. Council has the options of making changes to the proposal before it gets passed. If the two cent hike did take place, the new tax rate would be 32.9 cents per $100 of assessed value.
