About 300 people gathered at Congress Hall in Cape May on Friday night to raise money for a refurbishment project of the city’s Rotary Park. Ticket sales for the event, called the inaugural Ice Ball, raised about $175,000 towards the major improvements, plus a $35,000 pledge for a new flagpole. Cape May Mayor Ed Mahaney says that a public meeting will be held in a few weeks to discuss the project, which is slated to begin in January of 2016.
