On Wednesday the Cape May-Lewes Ferry welcomed the return of the MV Delaware to it’s fleet, after repairs to the vessel and an inspection by the U.S. Coast Guard. The ferry has now resumed it’s normal summer schedule with three vessels to take passengers on an 80-minute ride across the 17 miles of Delaware Bay. The DRBA estimated losses of $11,000 in ticket revenues for each day the MV Delaware was out of service. More than 43 million people have taken the ferry since its creation in 1964.
