Cape May County officials have made another move to keep the budget tight. County Adminstrator Steven O’ Connor tells Coastal Broadcasting that the agreement is between Avalon, Upper Township, and Lower Township. These municipalities will be saved to service the county’s heavy equipment vehicles. The mechanics that worked on these machines will be offered jobs in fare free transportation. O’ Connor says there will be no forced layoffs. The county will save about $250,000 through this measure.
