Three municipalities and the county are about to enter into a shared agreement. Cape May County Freeholders will vote tonight on a shared services agreement with the Township of Upper, the Borough of Avalon, and the Township of Lower, to provide for the servicing of county owned heavy equipment fleet. Those employees who have been handling this in the county are being offered jobs in Fare Free Transportation and will not be automatically let go. County officials say it will cost less to pay these other towns to service their heavy equipment fleet, and the other towns will benefit by bringing in additional revenue.
