Cape May County Freeholder Gerald Thornton reminds residents that Income tax return forms are being prepared free for persons of any age with incomes under $50,000 now through April 15, 2011. The forms are being completed through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (V.I.T.A.) Program.
Volunteers will be completing income tax forms by appointment only every Tuesday and Thursday between the hours of 9 a.m. and noon at the Social Services Building in Rio Grande. For an appointment call 886-3400. Forms will also be completed by appointment only at the following locations:
– North Wildwood Senior Center – 10th & Central Ave., North Wildwood Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to noon, call 522-7611
– Upper Township Senior Center – 1369 Old Stagecoach Road, Palermo, Thursdays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., call 390-9409
– Victoria Commons – 610 Townbank Road, North Cape May, Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., call 886-3400
– Howard Stainton Senior Center – 1735 Simpson Avenue, Ocean City, Mondays and Fridays, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., call 399-0055.
Additionally, forms will be completed at the Cape May County Main Library, 30 Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Volunteers can not complete your income taxes if you have sold your home or have stocks or bonds. Also, Schedule C (Profit or Loss) over $10,000, D (Capital Gains or Losses), E (Rents) or forms 2106, 3903, 8606, and 8615 can not be completed.
