The volcanic explosion that has kept many flights ground has trapped tourists in the United States. Two local groups have reported Cape May County as being a hub for tourists who can’t go home. Vicki Clark from the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce told Coastal Broadcasting that her office dealt with a number of people who rented a car in New York and drove down to Cape May County to visit, since they were unable to board a flight and go home.
Also, Ocean City sent out a news release that they will be greeting 14 visitors from Great Britain on Friday. City officials are going to provide souvenirs from the city, the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce, and members of the business community. The tip to the city came in from the Ocean Pharmacy.
