New U.S. Census figures are out, and they show Cape May County’s population dropping at a record pace. According to some new estimates released by the Census Bureau, Cape May County’s population is now slightly over 96,000 residents; that’s a full six percent drop from ten years ago, when the county’s population was estimated at over 102,000 year-round residents. According to an analysis done by the Press of Atlantic City, Cape May County is the only county in our five-county southern region that has lost population over the past ten years.
