The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders hosted the annual Student Government Day Event on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. Nineteen students representing nine Cape May County High Schools joined Cape May County Freeholders in conducting the Freeholders’ meeting after spending the day learning about the role of county government.
The day began for the students with lunch at the Cape May County Special Services School District ’s Back Porch Café hosted by EducationFreeholder Ralph E. Bakley, Sr. The students heard from Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel and other officials who explained various aspects of county government.
At the Caucus Meeting, the students heard a presentation on the proposed Salt Water Fishing Registry and Fishing License by Dan Glaze, a member of the Cape May County Chamber of Commerce’s Environmental Committee. Also, the winners of the County’s Earth Day Logo Contest were unveiled.
