CAPE MAY COUNTY EXPECTED TO BENEFIT FROM PAPAL VISIT

The Pope coming to Philadelphia is big news for everyone in South Jersey. Pope Francis will be in Philadelphia for the 2015 World Meeting of Families between Sept. 22 and 27. Expectations are that 1.5 million people will be coming into the area for the event. Because there are only so many hotel rooms in Philadelphia, Cape May County Tourism Director Diane Wieland says Cape May County is among the places being called upon for room availability. Wieland believes that some of the overflow spending of visitors to come into Philadelphia for the big event will drip down locally and provide a boost in accommodations, restaurants, and activities.
