Cape May officials are looking into the possibility of providing free parking to the handicapped. A meeting was held on Tuesday where the issue was debated. Questions remain over the legality and what type of rules could be implemented. The initial fight over the meter debate began when the city was looking to install new meters last year. Handicap people are required to put money in the meter but don’t have to come back and feed the meter. This current system is hard to enforce and the city wants to remain friendly to the handicap.
