Cape May has introduced its 2017 budget that calls for no increase in the local purpose tax rate. Council met on Tuesday and introduced the spending plan which totals just over $18 million. Officials believe the surplus will return to about $4 million by the end of the budget year. A public hearing on the budget will be held March 21.
