CAPE MAY CONVENTION HALL IS OPERATING WITHOUT FLOOR INSURANCE

A big issue was raised over flood insurance during a Cape May council meeting. Residents questioned council about the brand new Convention Hall. It came out in the meeting that the building doesn’t have flood insurance. Luckily, the structure was fine during Hurricane Sandy, but some wondered why a building that has such a big investment behind it, doesn’t have a safeguard in there. Council members said they were not aware of the lack of insurance until recently. The day-to-day operations of the city are run through the city manager’s office.
