CAPE MAY CITY POLICE SUCCESSFUL ADMINISTER NARCAN FOR FIRST TIME

A life was saved in Cape May due to quick acting by police there. Police responded to the 500 block of Lafayette Street for a drug overdose. The patient was administered narcan and within minutes became responsive. The patient was then transported to Cape Regional Medical Center by the Cape May City Fire Department for additional treatment. This is the first time that the Cape May City Police Department has administered nasal Narcan to save a patient’s life since the program’s inception by Cape May County Prosecutor Robert Taylor and the Cape May County Chiefs of Police Association.
