Cape May and the Cape May County Prosecutor have come to an agreement to settle. The settlement will allow the city of the move forward with the administrative matters involving the police department, including the disciplinary hearing of Lt. Lear and the lawsuit involving Captain Sheehan. The city agreed that the Cape May County Prosecutor is allowed to put a monitor in the police department and is the top law enforcement official in the county. The city also agrees that all internal affairs issues are confidential and can’t be released to the public.
