Its hard not to see a license plate from Canada while driving around Cape May County this summer. The strong push by the Cape May County Tourism Department into our neighbors from the north is paying off this summer. Early estimates say that they could be making up nearly 20 percent of all visitors to the county this summer. Tourism Director Diane Wieland told Coastal Broadcasting that local businesses are getting good responses from an area-wide coupon book that was circulated in Canada to entice more people to come and visit the county. Canadians tend to book longer trips and may be willing to spend more while on vacation than Americans at this time.
