CAMERA SURVEILLANCE COULD BE COMING TO AVALON

Cameras could be coming to Avalon in the near future. Officials there are working on a plan to place cameras at the entrance/exits of the borough. The cameras would be able to pick up license plate numbers and hopefully help cut down on crime. Other communities have explored the option in Avalon. Police Chief William McCormick said he has received a lot of support from Avalon Mayor Martin Pagliughi to get this project rolled out. McCormick took over as police chief in Avalon at the end of Oct. No plans have been finalized to this point.
