Ocean City residents may have the opportunity to vote on a measure that would allow them to bring their own alcohol to restaurants in the resort. A group submitted a petition over the weekend that needs to be certified by the city clerk; if it’s approved, residents could be voting on the BYOB issue on November 8th. Voters would be asked to repeal an ordinance that dates back to the 1980s that prohibits any restaurant from allowing its customers to consume alcoholic beverages. Ocean City remains a dry community with no sales of alcohol.
