BUSINESS TAXES MAY NOW FUND OPEN SPACE IN NEW JERSEY

Some business taxes paid in the State of New Jersey may soon fund open space programs.  Lawmakers in Trenton approved a bill on Monday that would take about $150 million in various business taxes and apply them to open space purchases.  If the measure advances, it will have to put before voters because an amendment to the state’s constitution is needed.
