On Thursday Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced that a Brigantine police officer was indicted for the sexual assault of a 16-year-old female victim. An Atlantic County Grand Jury indicted Brigantine Police Officer Ralph M. Pereira, 44, of the 5000 block of Ontario Avenue, Brigantine, on 10 criminal counts, in connection with the sexual assault of a child in 2012 and 2013. Also arrested in connection with the alleged incidents was Atlantic City police officer Andre Corbin, 43. The investigation was conducted by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, with the assistance of the Brigantine Police Department. Both Pereira and Corbin have been released from the Atlantic County Jail after posting $100,000 cash bail.
