He says he will not do it. New Jersey State Senator Jeff Van Drew announced Monday evening that he will not seek a congressional seat currently held by Republican Frank LoBiondo. There was widespread speculation that Van Drew would challenge LoBiondo this year, even after fellow democrat Bill Hughes Jr. announced his intentions to run for the seat last fall. Van Drew says he can still make a tangible difference for the state by staying in the Senate, and calls his move not to run “the correct decision and wisest course of action”.
